Burn's Club of St. Andrew

The January Burns Club meeting was held January 10th at the British Open Pub in Venice. We had a great group of 14 which included visitors Doug and Laura Shimmons from Virginia and Alex and May Crawley from Canada.

St. Andrew Society President Dennis Craig led a review of the Burns Celebration to be held January 22nd and final assignments were given. We were delighted that our guests wanted to be involved in the celebration as well. Alex and May knew Frank Campbell through their membership in the Robert Burns Association of North America of which Frank was President. We reviewed "Address to a Haggis" and then concluded singing "Auld Lang Syne" which rocked the pub. Actually, Kelly the owner said we sounded pretty good although she did not invite us back to sing on New Years Eve this year!

The next meeting will held February 21st at 1:30 PM at the British Pub. Poems to be reviewed will be e-mailed out later. Hope to see you there.
