Since awarding the first scholarship for $500, the program has made awards every year, now totaling 126 scholarships ($137,000)  Scholarship History  Scholarship applications are disseminated to the public and charter students through the county public school systems. The competing students submit proof of their Scottish heritage or Scottish activities, carry an unweighted minimum GPA of 3.5, and provide an essay.

Every charitable organization or sponsor required to file under s. 496.406 must conspicuously display the registration number issued by the Department and in capital letters the following statement on every printed solicitation, written confirmation, receipt, or reminder of a contribution:
